Danielle Stamoulos (she/her) is a second-gen Greek-Australian writer based in Australia. She writes for the screen with short films, online series, and feature film. Writing for TV, stage and audio will be next on the never-ending plate of development she has going on. Danielle is pretty passionate about unheard and unseen stories from Greek diaspora, taboo themes for CALD women, body autonomy, sexuality and antiheroines. She writes genre-bending comedy-dramas, dark comedies, cringe comedy, supernatural and suspenseful dramas infused with the everyday and mythical.

Danielle’s recent writing success includes being the Writer for SBIFF24 (Santa Barbara International Film Festival & Flickerfest 2024 WINNER for Best Original Music, Antipodes FF 2023 Saint Tropez selection) short film Gorgo, she wrote/acted in when she completed a Masters of Screenwriting (2021) at AFTRS. Danielle is currently in the thick of writing her first feature film with Co Curious for the 'In The Room' Feature Film Commission with Powerhouse Parramatta, set to premiere in 2025. Danielle was a writer for Co Curious' 2022 'On the Bright Side' initiative supported by the Netflix Creative Equity Fund, and completed a Development Intern Placement with Lingo Pictures after selected for Screen Australia's 2019 Developing the Developer, selected for Scripted Ink's 2022 Writers' Internship with STUDIOCANAL. Danielle also co-wrote Episode 4 ‘For The Likes’ for AACTA nominated comedy web series Halal Gurls (ABCiview).

Danielle’s own supernatural cringe comedy web series Curse of the Virgin, selected originally for ACE’s (Arts & Cultural Exchange) Digital Diaspora’s initiative supported by Screen Australia and program executive Rosie Lourde. Curse of the Virgin is currently in development as a 7x7 Youtube series, also EP’d by Barry Gamba & Bec Bignell and Director is Grace Tan (Appetite).

Danielle has worked in other writing and development capacities, as a recent Script Coordinator for SBS’ queer revisionist TV series & Berlinale Series nominated While The Men Are Away (Arcadia), working side by side Showrunner Kim Wilson, additionally Script Coordinator to Sarah Scheller & Alison Bell and Script Producer Greg Waters on S1 of The Letdown (Netflix/ABC), and Producer's Attachment (Development) on feature film Here Out West (2022 AACTA award nominated for Best Film). She is also the current Creative Developer for Screen Australia feature film development funded Panos, Pannos & George by Damien Strouthos, directed by Peter Andrikidis.

Danielle has also been a much sought after Notetaker and has worked for writers rooms for Dreamchaser Entertainment, Lingo Pictures (The Secrets She Keeps/Erotic Stories/The Housemate), Magpie Pictures (Swift Street), Made Up Stories (The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart/Wolf Like Me S2/Strife) & Co Curious (Here Out West) & Afro Sistahs Collective.
