Danielle Stamoulos is a Greek-Australian woman (she/her) multi-hypenate actor, writer and story developer for Film, TV, Online and Theatre. A 2013 acting graduate from ACA (Actors Centre Australia) with an Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts (Acting) and completed a Masters of Screenwriting at AFTRS (2021). Danielle grew up in south-Western Sydney, the lands of the Darug and Eora people, amongst the ethnic burbs of Punchbowl & Bankstown. Her work explores untold female Greek diaspora stories, themes of taboo for CALD women, myth, body autonomy, antiheroines, sexuality and diaspora identity. Danielle’s recent national & international success, short film GORGO she wrote/acted in, is produced by Katie Amos (current creative executive at Made Up Stories) and directed by Ven Gialouris. Gorgo was selected for its North American premiere at top tier festival SBIFF24 (Santa Barbara International Film Festival) in the land of Hollywood California, also selected for 2023 Antipodes Film Festival St. Tropez and 2024 FLICKERFEST where it was the WINNER for Best Original Music in a Short Film. Danielle is currently writing her first feature film with Co Curious, a Powerhouse Parramatta commission called IN THE ROOM and is developing her own 7x7 Youtube supernatural cringe comedy series CURSE OF THE VIRGIN, executive Produced by Barry Gamba (Arts & Cultural Exchange) and Bec Bignell (Netflix’ 600 Bottles of Wine/STAN’s Homespun), and directed by Grace Tan (SBS’ Appetite). Danielle has also written for ABCiview series HALAL GURLS. Danielle's original gothic comedy Furies was selected for Co Curious/Netflix Creative Equity Fund initiative, completed a Development Intern placement at LINGO PICTURES with Screen Australia’s 2019 Developing the Developer, Scripted Ink’s 2022 Writers’ Internship with STUDIOCANAL, co-writer on HALAL GURLS (ABCiview), Producer’s Attachment (Development) on AACTA nominated HERE OUT WEST. Some of Danielle’s other acting credits play LADYBIRD LADYBIRD directed by Anthony Skuse, LOVE CHILD (S4), Sydney Theatre Award nominated play SLUT for ‘Best Ensemble Cast’ (2017) and was a part of the main ensemble cast for internationally nominated and award-winning murder mystery comedy web series SYDNEY SLEUTHERS. Danielle also really loves to help other creators in story development and is often consulted to collaborate on story. She is the Creative Developer for Screen Australia feature funded PANOS, PANNOS & GEORGE and in other script department roles, was Script Coordinator SBS/ARCADIA queer revisionist dramedy WHILE THE MEN ARE AWAY and Script Coordinator on THE LETDOWN (S1) on ABC/NETFLIX.
